Welcome to the official Stan’s Roofing & Siding blog! I’m Kevin Bumstead, son of the founder of Stan’s, and I’m writing our first blog on Father’s Day 2011. It’s only fitting that our blog begins on Father’s Day, as a tribute to my dad Stan, who started our company.
My dad built this company more than 40 years ago to provide fellow Chicagoans with the highest quality building materials, experienced workmanship, and a belief that it’s important to treat customers with the ultimate respect. By being honest, forthright, and having a belief in doing what’s right, my dad’s reputation grew very fast.
I’m thankful my Dad put his trust in me when it came time to take over the reins. I will never let him down, and I won’t let my customers down either. I’m also thankful that my Dad is still here. He continues to be a great inspiration to me, my family, and all of our employees, and his sense of humor and positive outlook always seem to make everyone’s day.
Before Dad left Stan’s, he turned his attention to helping more people in our community. He has spent the last four years helping the Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity in building homes for those in need. I’m proud that our Stan’s team helped install a new roof on a home in Park Forest in May of this year.
So, Dad, thanks for setting an example for me, our entire family, and our employees. Your name lives on every day on our trucks, and, of course, in our hearts. God Bless You, Dad. With love and affection…Kevin.
