Challenge

The homeowner stated that the window has been leaking in the one corner into the house and ruining the drywall. Upon removing the siding, our technicians noticed that the window was placed into the hole created by the builders for a window, but then not properly sealed from the elements. A thin red tape similar to electrical tape was placed over flashing and sections of it were missing. This can happen on occasion as time causes things to breakdown.

Solution

We installed high quality flashing tape around the window. Since water naturally flows downward, the first row of tape would be at the base of the window. You then apply the sides and finally the top piece. The slight overlap will assist in a tight barrier against the elements.
